Dehydration: 3 Basic Symptoms that you should not ignore this summer

Hydration and dehydration are the two phases where we humans face/go through unknowingly in our daily lives. everyone is aware that our human body consists of 75% of water. This 75% of water in the body contributed from our liquid intake, blood, fluids in the cells, within the cells, within blood vessels, and in between cells. Hydration is fueling our body with liquids, whereas dehydration is excess out of water/fluids from the body in the form of sweat, urine, loose
bowels, and excessive episodes of vomit.

Being part of human cycles hydration and dehydration plays an important role in our lives especially during this summer season.

Another way to rule out that you and I are in the dehydration stage, dryness or roughness, or paleness of the skin is the key factor. However excessive exposure to sun rays also worsens the skin cells and makes them rough and dry.

Even few people among us facing acne on diiferent parts of the body.

This is because of dehydration, in simple words, whenever our body/skin lack enough water or fluids for its functioning, it results in dryness of the skin.. then additionally we face itchiness and perhaps dull-looking too. Your overall tone and complexion may appear uneven, and fine lines are more noticeable.

In our regular day-to-day life, we were so busy and our schedule has been packed so hectic that we cannot even drink enough water each day. When there is no enough water, indirectly it resembles the lack of electrolytes which eventually affect our health too. For the proper functioning of the body, electrolytes are crucial.

These electrolytes regulate nerve and muscle function, hydrate the body, balance blood acidity and pressure, and help rebuild damaged tissue. The muscles and neurons are sometimes referred to as the “electric tissues” of the body. Hence when there is a lack of fluid in the body, electrolytes imbalance exist and ends with tiredness by improper functioning of the body activities

Bonus

Is there any burning sensation during urination?

When there’s an insufficient amount of water in the body,
1.Then we urinate fewer number times compared to the previous day,
2.We can observe the yellowish color at the time of urination
3.Finally we will sense the burning sensation too.

Are you excreting hard stools?

If we look around our neighbors or known persons, most of the people are suffering from hard stools/constipation.
Long-term run of hard stools of a person slowly results in constipation (where you excrete weekly 2 to 3 times rather than every day).
Make sure that, if you have any of these signs or symptoms, try to consult a dietician/nutritionist on how to overcome the dehydration, and maintain the body functioning properly.

And few more symptoms of dehydration

  • Are you excreting hard stools?
  • How often/regular your bowel movements?
  • From how many days you are suffering from constipation?
  • Do you have body pains/knee pains?

If any one of you found yourself among these mentioned points, please note that you are at the risk of dehydration.

Through personal experiences

Let me add my personal experience which is facing every day in my hospital, Among 50 patients, on average, 5 to 10 patients are complaining about

  • Severe headache
  • Stomach tightness
  • Hard stools
  • Constipation

Reason being

The only reason is insufficient amount of water intake.

When I counsel and ask them to have plenty of oral liquids, then they relieve themselves from headaches, stomach tightening, and excrete soft stools.
