The movie industry is one of the most colourful and important industry in the field of Entertainment. The actors and actresses are highly admired and adored by their fans. But, these stars are also the victims of rumours, online trolling and baseless gossips many times.
Recently, there has been a trending hash tag called #KillGossipSites. This has been started in the wake of Vijay Devarakonda, the most loved youth icon falling prey to unnecessary hate by an entertainment website. As we are all well aware of the current Lockdown situation and the difficulties that come with it, many movie stars have contributed their bit in some or the other way to help the needy in this situation.
Vijay Devarakonda also has started a fund raiser to help the needy people by providing them with the essentials through his foundation “Devarakonda Foundation”. He himself donated around 25 lakh and through donations he received another 75 lakh which formed as a means of help to around 7500 families.
As per the reports, the website named “Great Andhra” approached Vijay for an interview for which he refused. According to Vijay, this spreading of fake news and calling him out “for creating hungama in the pretext of helping people” is a result of his refusal to give an interview. He took to social media to express his disappointment and anger.
He termed such websites as a menace to the society. He also said ” They use us and feed us with wrong information. Not only me, many actors, directors and producers are also victims of such websites. In a way, readers and audience are victims too when they read such misguiding websites.”
He called upon the entire Tollywood to lend their support to fight against such gossip websites who were spreading misleading information. He expressed his anguish stating that even a good deed such as helping people in need has become a target of negative trolls and such trolling is utterly disturbing.
In the wake of his call to the industry, all the Tollywood biggies have come out in Support of him and have expressed their views on social media. Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu , Kajal Aggarwal, Rana Daggubati, Rashi Khanna and many other directors and movie professionals have shared their own experiences and are calling out for the boycott of such websites.
And, Why Not ???
Spreading negativity in times like these is purely unacceptable. And, if we do not appreciate the help offered by the celebrities, we surely do not have a right to troll them mercilessly.
Every person is entitled to help in his own way in times of need and terming that as a publicity stunt is surely illogical and not right.
An upcoming actor like Vijay Devarakonda has really gone out of his way by contributing such a huge amount and also starting a foundation to help middle class and needy families. He surely deserves a pat on the back for this and not insults.
Megastar Chiranjeevi calling himself a victim of such trolling many times, appreciated Vijay for what he has done and also extended his full support in this fight against fake news.
Superstar Mahesh Babu also came out in support of Vijay calling him his brother and calling for a boycott of such fake websites which spread collective lies about the actors of the industry.
Puri Jagannadh, Koratala Shiva, Charmee, Ravi Teja, Allari Naresh, Anil Ravipusi, Vamshi Paidipally and many others have expressed their concern on this issue and are standing strong with Vijay Devarakonda.
#KillFakeNews, #KillGossipSites, #SpreadPositivity are trending hugely on social media and Tollwood stands united in this fight against baseless gossips.
This issue must make the websites wary of what they publish. Also, other websites which publish real and true information may also get called out due to such fake websites which have earned the wrath of the stars.
So, being careful and true is the key.
We all stand with Vijay Devarakonda in this fight against untrue gossips and rumours.
More Power to You, Sir !!! Keep Going !!!
