Digital India 2021: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has always been one for introducing creative initiatives. Right from demonetization to dealing with the pandemic in an authentically traditional way, Modi has proven to be quite different from the previous leaders India has had.
The ambitious initiative, Digital India was launched by the Modi Government on July 1, 2015, as a tool to bring the Government closer to the citizens. After six years from its launch, it has turned out to be one of the biggest success stories. Promoting citizen engagement, empowering people, and making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology were the prime aspects of the initiative.
July 1, 2021 marks the sixth anniversary of the Digital India initiative and the Prime Minister is going to participate in an interactive and informative session with the beneficiaries of Digital India. The MD and The CEO of Digital India, Abhishek Singh said that, it was a moment of pride for all of them to be able to interact with the Prime Minister regarding the various successes of Digital India. He also stated that the support by the Prime Minister exceptional and they were looking forward to work on new initiatives under his dynamic leadership.
The virtual session took place at 11 a.m. today, and the Prime Minister expressed his confidence about the success of Digital India and said that, together, we can make this decade, “India’s techade”, provided there is a collective support from every citizen.
The Prime Minister in his address also said that, in the times of the pandemic, the digital initiatives proved to be of great help, in the fields of education, health care and other essential services. Aarogya Setu app created in India has been acknowledged quite well and it has played a prominent role in the times of the pandemic.
PM Modi, during the session, listened to various stories, where people found the digitalization helpful and the e-NAM platform which is a National Agriculture Market platform has proven to be a real boon to even small time farmers.
Digitalization has indeed brought a highly positive change in the lives of many people in the country, and the Prime Minister encouraged people to use the technology in a more positive way, to drive the country towards huge success.
